Despite this being just his second single, ‘Poppy’, is an impressive statement from Wunderhorse. He hits us with gritty distorted guitars and addictive melodies in equal measure. Like shoegaze meets indie-pop. He lets his music change tone and pace dramatically whenever necessary, leading to a style that is both unpredictable and impossible to fully define. “’Poppy’ is a song about a time and place long forgotten that suddenly returns to you in vivid recall, kind of like a dream that doesn't belong to you anymore,” he says.
